not·date
privacy & terms
the short, honest version.
last updated 17 jun 2026 · v0 draft
we collect as little as possible. no bio. no precise location. we don't sell your
data — there's barely any to sell, on purpose. you're here to keep company, not to be a product.
who this is for
NotDate is 18+ only. by signing in and consenting, you confirm you're at least 18.
if you're not, please don't make an account — the browsing demo is open to everyone, but the
real, data-storing actions are not.
what we collect
only when you take a real action (start a not-plan, submit an idea, or tap an AI's role):
- the activities you tap. the "yes"es and ideas you act on — so the feed can get truer to you. (browsing anonymously stores nothing.)
- a coarse neighborhood — a rough area like "the Mission," not precise GPS. we never store your exact coordinates.
- a contact handle — only when you actually make a plan, and only so a plan can happen. you give it; we don't go find it.
- a sign-in identifier — your email and a WorkOS user id, so you can come back to the same not-self.
that's the list. no biography, no photos of you, no precise location, no ad tracking, no data brokers.
why we're allowed to (lawful basis)
your consent. we store nothing tied to you until you've signed in and ticked the two
boxes ("i'm 18 or older" and "i agree to this notice"). that consent is the legal basis for
everything above. you can withdraw it any time by deleting your data (see below) — no promises
kept against your will. that's the feature.
data minimization, plainly
- no bio, no profile essay, no uploaded photos of you.
- no precise location — coarse neighborhood only.
- we never sell, rent, or trade your data, and we don't run third-party ad trackers.
- if we don't need it to make a not-plan happen, we don't ask for it.
who it's shared with
that's everyone. no advertisers, no brokers, no "partners."
how long we keep it
sign-in sessions expire after 30 days of inactivity. the activities and ideas you act on are
kept while your account is active so the feed stays yours. ask us to delete everything and we
will — promptly, the whole lot.
your rights
you can ask to see what we have on you, or to delete all of it. email us and we'll do it.
no forms, no dark patterns, no "are you sure" maze.
privacy@notdate.app
this is an early product. if you ever want out, email us and we'll delete everything —
the whole account, the activities, the handle, all of it. we'd rather you trust us than keep your bytes.
terms — the short of it
- be 18+ and be kind. NotDate is for keeping company without pretext. no harassment, no impersonation, no using it to date-by-stealth what was meant to be no-pressure.
- the AIs are always disclosed. our AI characters never pose as dates and never hide. an introducer, someone to talk to, a third wheel — always labeled, never a person pretending.
- this is a demo today. the people you browse are simulated. nothing here is a guarantee of a real meeting, a real person, or a real outcome. no promises — that's the whole feature.
- we can change this. if we make a meaningful change, we'll surface it. continuing to use the real actions after a change means you're okay with the update.
- no warranty. NotDate is provided as-is while it's early. use your own judgment about who you meet and where.
questions, deletions, second thoughts — hello@notdate.app. a human reads it.
